Teeing up for a big thank you

COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 26, 2009 — The Muscular Dystrophy Association is hosting their 10th annual Golf Outing on Thursday, June 4 at the Foxfire Golf in Lockburne, Ohio. This event is to show MDA’s appreciation to the Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters for all of their support.

The day will begin with registration at 9 a.m. followed by a golf tournament with three skill holes and lunch. Over 200 fire fighters representing 47 locals throughout all of Ohio are attending. The event will be attended by many families assisted by the MDA.

This event is a kick-off to the fundraising efforts of the OAPFF which extends through Labor Day. Fill-the-Boot, their most visible fundraising event, is an occasion where firefighters stand at intersections holding their boots for community members to donate money to MDA.

Last year the OAFF raised $661,807 bringing the grand total since 1988 to $7,876,000.
